ezyVet review

The highest-rated system we cover on public reviews. Cloud, highly customisable, and that customisability is also the main complaint.

Jan PieterseCloud

The short version

Rates higher on public reviews than anything else we cover. The recurring caveat is that it needs configuring before it feels good.

Best for: Multi-site or growing practices with someone willing to invest time in configuring it properly.

Strengths

  • Highest public rating of the systems we cover, 4.6 on Capterra
  • Users describe it as genuinely user-friendly
  • Highly customisable: templates, estimates, records, team permissions
  • Cloud, so multi-site and remote access are the normal case
  • Two-way integrations with labs and accounting systems

Trade-offs

  • Reviewers report estimates not converting digitally into invoices, requiring manual re-entry
  • The dental chart is reported as long-standing beta
  • Without extensive configuration, users describe it as clunky and unintuitive
  • Needs a reliable internet connection

ezyVet is a cloud practice management system, part of IDEXX since 2021. It holds a 4.6 out of 5 across 276 verified reviews on Capterra, the highest public rating among the systems we cover.

We publish that as we find it. It would be convenient for a site organised around ownership to report that the group-owned systems rate poorly. They do not, and saying otherwise would make everything else here worth less.

What users consistently praise

Two things dominate. The first is that people find it pleasant to use: reviewers repeatedly describe scheduling, records and day-to-day navigation as straightforward. The second is customisability. Templates, estimates, clinical records and team permissions can all be shaped to how a practice actually works.

Integration breadth is cited often too, including two-way connections with labs and accounting systems.

What users consistently raise

The most specific recurring complaint is that estimates do not carry digitally into invoices, so staff re-enter them by hand. Reviewers describe that as both extra work and an opportunity for error. The dental chart is reported as having been in beta for a long time.

The broader caveat is the flip side of the customisability: reviewers note that without extensive individual configuration, the software can feel clunky and unintuitive. Flexible systems ask you to make decisions, and a practice that does not invest that time gets a worse experience than the rating suggests.

Ownership

ezyVet is owned by IDEXX, which also sells diagnostics and equipment. The same consideration applies as with Cornerstone: excellent alignment if you run IDEXX equipment, worth examining if you do not. See who owns your practice management system.

Who it suits

Practices running or planning more than one site, wanting genuine remote access, and with someone prepared to configure it properly at the start. Practices wanting something that works well out of the box with minimal setup should weigh that last point carefully.

What we do not know yet

Aggregate ratings tell you how a broad population feels. They do not tell you how a practice like yours feels. That is what our survey is for, and once we hold enough responses for a given system we publish that breakdown here alongside the public numbers.
